CURRENT WORKS

The prospect of taking a break from time in the studio can leave one feeling anxious and fearful that the creative drive will not return but the fact is that the breaks are essential to allow new ideas and energy to grow.

Summer has been that time.  Family, friends sunshine and fresh air have been the order of the day for the last month and a bit.

There are a number of projects in the works for the coming months and my ritual start is to clean the studio.  It’s a way of bonding with the setting and always gets me excited about what new surprises, creatively speaking, are in store. This page is constantly updated to check back often to see what’s coming

I’ve spent the last couple of days prepping Arches watercolour paper for abstract exploration.  There are 15 new and “in progress” square foot panel ready for what I’ll create for the annual Square Foot Show at ARTWRX Studio, November 21st to 23rd and a commission to look forward to that will capture the magic power of the West Coast landscape.  Can’t wait to get started!

ELKHORN LOOP

60”x 60” Mixed media and acrylic on canvas

This is one of my most recent paintings, completed in 2025 as a commission for the offices at CTZN Architecture in Calgary. It is the largest piece I have done to date and the image of significance to the partners made the task of particular importance. The opportunity to incorporate the founding members of the company and the chocolate Lab, Sophie was the perfect way to personalize the painting.

Prints available

Gearing up for a new series of works on paper. Check back here often to see how things are developing and have a first look at new work.

The launch of CTZN Architecture studio space was such a fun event. The festivities were organized to extend a thank you to all of the people who have had a part in the successful start to the company. It was also the opportunity to have an unveiling of the painting. I am filled with gratitude for the warm reception it received.

THE TREASURE OF LONG BEACH

24”x 60” Mixed media and acrylic on cradled wood panel

This image has been a favourite to paint and has been well received by art collectors as this is the third interpretation of the light and the water I have created of Long Beach, Tofino.

The grouping displayed here are mounted prints of several of my favourite paintings. The pieces are suitable for displaying on a bookcase or in small spaces hung on the wall. The price of these small treasures make them ideal for collecting, as hostess gifts, or whenever you want to mark a special occasion.
